06A,06B & 038 to 027 or 049 Conversion Systems

We receive constant requests for performance engines of the older 049/027 jack shaft style motors. Since supplies of fresh OE blocks have been diminished, we decided to create an alternative. We now offer an 06A/06B-220mm and 038-236mm conversion that not only allows you to install these later much improved engine blocks into the earlier Mk1-3 chassis, but also mate them with an 8-valve or 16-valve cylinder head. In addition to the eliminated jack shaft, integral crank sensor, water pump, and serpentine belt system,another benefit to this conversion is that you now can add the industries only "off the shelf" complete dry sump package to your early 8-valve or 16-valve racing engines.

Included in the conversion are:
• Prepared engine block
• Custom front engine mount (mk1 applications only)
• Special timing belt and tensioner
• Front and rear crank seals
• Updated oil filter flange
• Special ARP head studs
• Crankshaft and billet camshaft timing pulleys
• Water pump
• Water outlet
• Heater core pipe
• Appropriate steel head gasket any bore to 84.00mm*

*Bore and hone to any custom piston size is
$50/.5 mm (50% off standard pricing)

2.0L Diesel Big Bore Block Kits

We have developed and are offering an 03G 2.0 liter block to fit 038 applications. With it's  81.00mm bore, the 03G engine block provides an improved, quick and easy way to increase the displacement from 1896cc to 1968cc.


Available in 4 different configurations:

Block Kit:
Consisting of 03G/ALH engine block plus 81.00mm BGW / BHW pistons. Note: this kit requires the use of the tapered connecting rods of the late 038 series.

 

Semi Short Block Kit:
With engine block, 81.00 mm pistons and connecting rods.

 

Short Block Kit:
With engine block, 81.00 mm pistons with rings, connecting rods, main and rod bearings.

 

Assembled Short Block:
