History As close to a GTO car as we will ever own, as the factory crushed three of the five original GTO cars sometime after the close of the season. The remaining two are in factory hands and not for sale. However, car # 5 was sent to Audi Sport South Africa in 1990 to develop Audi South Africa's next generation Wesbank Modified car, the S4. The Audi 80/90 body of the GTO car not being sold in South Africa could not just be raced as the 200 Trans Am was. So Audi Sport SA undertook the project to build an S4 GTO car. This vehicle is basically a GTO car in S4 bodywork. We purchased it from Ashley Landman of Ashley's Fine Cars in Cape Town, South Africa in 2000.
